Easy-to-Use Tab Lifter for Cans

hImage of a Can Tab LifterThere are lots of flat, flimsy tab lifters around to use when opening soda pop cans, or cans of soup or tunafish. I find holding on to most of them nearly as difficult as trying to pry the tabs up in the first place. That’s why I like this tab lifter so much. The handle is nice and robust — very easy to hold just by curling your hand around it.

The tab slips into the notch in the end, and you just gently push down on the red handle to lift the tab. That’s enough to open a pop can; if you keep rocking the handle upward on a bigger can, you’ll pull the top off to fully open it. There’s a magnet (that little dark disk) to hold the lid, too.

This one’s from the Campbell’s Soup company. I was not too pleased that it came with the Campbell’s logo imprinted on the other side, since I’m not a big fan of either the soup or peppering my home with advertising, but I’m glad I bought it. I haven’t fought with a tabbed can since I brought it home a year or more ago.

Available on the Campbell’s Soup Store website; the website’s kind of a mess. Search on “tab lifter” — the product’s full name is “tab lifter pop ‘n pull” on the shop home page, and “pop ‘n pull tab lifter” once you reach the product page.
